Privacy Policy

Keepscribe (“the app”) is published by the developer of Keepscribe (“we”). This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: we do not collect any data.

Your recordings stay on your device

The app uses your microphone only to record when you tap Record. Recordings and transcripts are stored only on your iPhone, are excluded from iCloud backup, and leave your device only when you choose to export or share them.

On-device transcription

Transcription uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. Audio and text are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. To transcribe a language for the first time, iOS may download Apple’s speech model for that language; after that it works offline. If a language isn’t available offline, the app tells you and does not send your audio to a server instead.

Data we collect

None. The app has no account or sign-in, no server, shows no ads, and contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. It does not track you across apps or websites and does not use the advertising identifier.

Purchases

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. The app checks your purchase status on your device using Apple’s StoreKit. Your monthly free transcription minutes are counted in your device’s Keychain and never leave your device.

Information Apple provides to developers

Through App Store Connect, Apple gives developers aggregated information such as downloads, sales and app usage statistics. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may also provide crash reports and diagnostics. This information is provided by Apple, is not used by us to identify you, and is only available if you have agreed to share it. You can change this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Notifications

If you start a free trial, the app can schedule a reminder 24 hours before the trial ends. This is a local notification created on your device; no data is sent to us.

Your choices

You can change microphone access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Deleting the app removes its local data, including your recordings, from your device; please export anything you want to keep first.

Children’s privacy

Keepscribe is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because the app collects no data, no personal information about children is collected.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If we ever start collecting data, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details before that change takes effect.
